4. An altar
Site: Resnik, the Ancient Siculi
Material: limestone
Dating: 2nd – 1st century BC
Dimensions: lower part 75 x 68 mm, upper part 69 x 55 mm, height 110 mm
Description: Home square altar. It’s ornamented by a decoration which creates diagonals in the central field. There is a square recess on the upper part of this monument for making sacrificial gifts. It stood on four little shallow legs but only one of them is partially saved.
