9. A TILE

Material: bronze
Dating: 13th century
Dimensions: 25 x 20 mm
Description: Seven bronze metal tiles bearing the same motif. They were made in technique of pressing into the matrix. In the middle of every tile there is a floral motive – a lily. The tile is framed. There are small holes for fastening on the edges. Sewed to leather or textile bow they could have been a decorative forehead bow or ornament on the clothes.
